Behind the Scenes: Tree Removal at Gypsy Cottage
At Beechwood Trees & Landscapes, we take on projects of all shapes and sizes, but some require extra planning and precision—like our recent tree removal at Gypsy Cottage.
A Complex Removal with a TPO
The tree in question had a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), meaning we had to secure permission from the council before any work could begin. With approval granted, our three-person team, led by Ben Lee, got to work.
Challenges We Faced
✅ Proximity to a Listed Building – The tree was close to the house, a Grade I listed property, meaning we had to be extra careful to avoid any damage.
✅ Structural Damage – The tree’s roots had already caused damage to both the pavement and the house, making its removal essential.
✅ Controlled Dismantling – Instead of felling the tree in one go, our team used rigging techniques to carefully lower sections to the ground.
Teamwork & Coordination
Safety and efficiency were key to this project. The team worked alongside an external traffic management crew to keep the area secure and ensure minimal disruption to the public. Thanks to their expert coordination, the job was completed on time and with precision.
This project is a great example of how our experienced teams handle complex tree removals while ensuring safety, efficiency, and care for the surrounding environment.
