Committed to Continuous Improvement and Employee Well-being
At Beechwood Trees and Landscapes Ltd, we recognise that our people are our most valuable asset. This belief forms the foundation of our commitment to fostering a supportive, engaging, and empowering workplace culture.
To better understand the needs, aspirations, and challenges of our employees, we recently conducted a comprehensive feedback survey.
The insights gathered have been instrumental in helping us shape our strategies for growth and development, both as a company and as an employer.
Key Findings from the Feedback Survey
The survey results provided a rich understanding of the employee experience at Beechwood. Several recurring themes emerged:
Positive Aspects of the Workplace:
Strong Team Dynamics: Employees consistently highlighted the camaraderie and support among team members as a defining strength. Our collaborative culture fosters a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
Investment in Professional Development: Many employees appreciated the training opportunities available, from leadership courses to operational skill-building, such as those supported by the Forestry Commission grant.
Transparency and Communication: Regular financial performance presentations by our Finance Manager were noted as a standout initiative, fostering trust and clarity about the company’s goals and achievements.
Areas for Improvement:
Work-Life Balance: While employees value the opportunities for growth, some expressed concerns about workload management and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Feedback and Recognition: While many employees feel supported, some indicated a need for more consistent recognition and constructive feedback to help them feel valued and aligned with company goals.
Career Progression: A few employees highlighted a desire for clearer pathways to career advancement within the company.
Actions for Continuous Improvement
Based on the feedback, we are implementing a series of initiatives to address these areas of concern and reinforce our commitment to employee satisfaction and well-being:
Promoting Work-Life Balance:
Encouraging regular breaks and managing workloads effectively to reduce pressure.
Exploring additional resources to support team members during peak periods.
Enhancing Recognition and Feedback Mechanisms:
Launching a structured recognition program to celebrate achievements, including weekly “Values Awards” presentations.
Ensuring everone completes their one-to-one check-ins between employees and managers to provide constructive feedback and discuss career goals.
Clarifying Career Progression:
Developing a detailed career pathway framework to help employees visualise opportunities for growth.
Offering mentorship programs to support employees aspiring to take on new roles or responsibilities.
